Celebrate Connection: 25 years of the Oranje Fonds

Throughout the Dutch Kingdom, from Willemstad to Groningen, people show every day what connection can mean. They bring people together over a cup of coffee, help newcomers feel at home, open the doors of community centres and make sure people feel seen, welcome and included. For 25 years, Oranje Fonds has supported these initiators, volunteers and social organisations. With funding, knowledge and our network, we help good ideas grow into lasting social initiatives. In 2027, we celebrate this special anniversary — not by putting Oranje Fonds in the spotlight, but by celebrating the people and places that help keep our society connected.

Anniversary celebration

On 30 January 2027, we will celebrate 25 years of Oranje Fonds at the GelreDome in Arnhem. It will be a festive evening filled with music, stories and encounters, in the presence of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.

During this celebration, we will honour the initiators, volunteers, partners and organisations that have helped build a more connected society over the past 25 years. The event can also be watched live on NPO1.

Help us strengthen community spaces

This anniversary also belongs to the donors, partners, businesses, foundations and public organisations that stand behind social initiatives and volunteers. Thanks to their support, thousands of good ideas have been able to grow, more people can meet one another, and more people feel that they belong.

Would you like to contribute to more connection throughout the Kingdom? You can help us strengthen community spaces where people come together, support one another and build social ties.

Anniversary Fund for community spaces

With Vier de verbinding – Anniversary Fund for community spaces, Oranje Fonds will support places where people can meet in an accessible way, find support and feel connected.

This includes community centres, neighbourhood centres, walk-in centres, recovery and self-help centres, Odensehuizen and similar places where people come together.

The Anniversary Fund will be officially launched on 30 January 2027. From 2 February 2027, eligible organisations can apply for a contribution to strengthen their location, make it more sustainable or create more opportunities for people to meet.

The guidelines, conditions and application procedure will be published on the Oranje Fonds website from 2 February 2027.
